This proposal cites a lack of access to clean water, competition, and lack of community buy-in as major challenges. The team recommends a community-based model, supported by partnerships among the community, entrepreneurs, the water utility, a local water committee, and financial institutions, and enhanced by training and education.

Challenges: Improper Sanitation, Affordability, Scalability, Sustainability, General Access, Social, Cultural, and Political, Education and Understanding Level of End Users (of Technology and/or Solutions Available), Financing, Access, Understanding of key issues (sanitation and hygiene), Resistance to Change (Community), Political Barriers and Stakeholder Buy-In

Solutions: Partnership Building, Education and Awareness Campaigns, Entrepreneuship Focused, Community Level Solution, Micro-Finance Institutions and Loans, Operational Funding (Revinvestment), Economic and Commercial, Business-Led, Public-Private Partnership (Multiple Stakeholders), Financial, Social, Training and Education, Creation and Support to Water SMEs (Water Champs/Water Dreamers/Water Committee/Consultants, etc.
