When mothers have water connections closer to home or in their homes, they are able to gain back the time they used to spend walking and waiting in line. This allows them gain back time for other activities of their choosing.

2 – She and her family are healthier. When the water collected is contaminated with dissolved solids, bacteria and parasites there is a strong chance that the woman and her family will get sick. Mothers carrying their babies long distances to find water also have to repeat the journey with their children and the weight of the water increasing their load. This changes when they gain access to safe water sources.
