This proposal cites a lack of access to clean water and sanitation, difficulty finding, accessing, waiting for, and paying for water, the inequitable distribution of water, and a lack of community empowerment as major challenges. The team recommends a Water Ladder business model whereby water champs play a critical role in increasing access, generating demand through education, construction of latrines, and promoting engagement.
