Water creates possibilities
The World Bank reports that in India, from 1990 through 2007, rural access to improved water sources increased by 17%, or 1% per year, while youth literacy experienced a 21% increase during that same time period.
While other factors are certainly at work, improving access to safe water is having a positive impact on the literacy and educational rates among children in India and around the world. When children are drinking water that doesn’t make them sick, they are able to attend school. When not standing in line for water, they can make it to school on time.
Thank you for being part of bringing these children a better future for themselves and their communities.
